The production of blocks of ornamental rocks and their respective splitting into slabs in the beneficiation industries generates tons of waste. There are several stages of the process: extraction of the rock material from the ornamental stone benches, the transformation of the blocks into slabs and, later, the transformation into the final product.


Since the product needs to meet quality and aesthetics requirements, the losses generated in these processes are used in several industrial engineering and agriculture applications - in the latter, considered a source of potassium.


One of the priorities of the Guidoni Group is to invest in research to enable the reuse of this generated waste, making it possible to supply alternative raw materials for other industrial processes and avoiding the extraction of natural resources.

Internal reuse and applications:

Since 2018, the Guidoni Group has been investing in the practice of reusing its co-products in internal processes, in addition to developing alternatives with customers, new applications of these materials, thus contributing to the circular economy.


In addition to being widely used in agriculture, being transformed into fertilizers, the co-products of ornamental rocks have a wide presence in civil construction.

How we operate:

Each client has an engineering culture and structure. We take this into account to adapt the way we work. For this reason, we work with shared engineering, being an extension of the engineering team, complementing its structure.


We work with a dedicated engineering and management team, from the feasibility study (or preparation of the technical and commercial proposal) to the delivery of the work.



The project aims to use blocks whose aesthetic appearance does not meet the standard required in the coating market, in the construction of hydraulic fluid retaining walls. For this application, the blocks are superimposed in order to erect a large gravity wall, capable of holding or slowing moving masses.

The benefit of this project is the possibility of de-characterizing the wall after resolving the emergency situation. The speed of deconstruction and the possibility of reusing this material for other applications are the great differentials.

There are situations in which the necessary speed for the construction of foundations and equipment bases, whose traditional application of engineering would use cement as raw material, becomes impracticable. In this sense, the application of granite blocks, with similar mechanical characteristics can be interesting alternatives, both from an economic point of view, as in the agility of execution.


It also has the benefit of the possibility of de-characterizing the site after use.



Already present in our daily lives, paving streets and sidewalks using cobblestone-shaped rocks or without a defined pattern, arranged side by side, in order to allow the movement of people, vehicles or equipment, is also an application of generated by-products. in the process of mining ornamental stones.


This co-product, however, goes through a processing process for squaring in order to enable its application.


The residues generated can have wide application in areas degraded by the erosion process, as well as in the protection of sandy dams, avoiding, in this case, the erosion caused by the waves formed in the reservoir and by the movement of rising and falling in the water level.


The application is characterized by the use of rock with a high degree of hardness and the quality of the rockfill depends on this factor, having previously analyzed the customer's needs and the definition of the ideal rock for each application.



The high volume of feldspar present in our deposits are important inputs from other productive sectors, which are widely used in the manufacture of ceramics, glass, paints, among others. Our raw feldspar is supplied to companies at competitive cost and terms.


Feldspars have numerous applications in the industry, due to their alkali and alumina content.

Among these applications are:

- Glass and ceramic manufacturing

- Incorporation material in paints, plastics and rubbers

- Glazed products, such as: Sanitary and kitchen ware, porcelain for electrical applications.

- They are also used in welding electrodes, light abrasives and in the production of urethane, latex foam, construction aggregates, among other applications.

Our manufacture of our Quartz plates consumes a considerable volume of micronized silica. This element is produced in our milling and in its production process, a material content outside the specification is generated, which prevents its application in the production of sheets, however, they meet the specifications of other products, such as paints, ceramics, porcelain, mortar, among others.

The quality control laboratory is equipped with a state-of-the-art particle analyzer, used in the analyzes as well as in the validation of equipment cleaning. Physical-chemical tests are carried out on all lots guaranteeing the quality and standardization of the services provided.
